Growing up I attended Schulze Elementary, Kingsborough Middle School, and McCollum High School. After high school I went to Southwest Texas State University which is now called Texas State in San Marcos, Texas where I received a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in  Interdisciplinary Studies. My first teaching job was in a private school where I taught kindergarten for six years. In 2000 I was hired here at Stonewall Flanders as a 2nd grade teacher. I taught 2nd for seven years and then while working on my Master's degree I was a Reading teacher. I received my Master's degree in Reading from Grand Canyon University. I have also taught 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade Reading/Language Arts. This year I will be teaching 2nd grade Reading/L.A. & Social Studies

Reading for the Year  

This year I am expecting each grade level to read a certain amount of books throughout the school year that cover all of the genres.

 

owl 3rd grades must read 30 books before the end of the year. They will be responsible for filling in their genre graph chart.

 

 

extra 4th grade will have to read 40 books before the end of the year. They will be responsible for filling in their genre graph chart.

 

bookworm 5th grade will have to read 40 books before the end of the year. They will be responsible for filling in their genre graph chart.
